This is the first of a series of four pastels I am currently working on, featuring this young woman. I like the idea of her shape coming in or out of the geometric shape. I decided to work this on the Canson mi-teintes pastel paper, which remains one of my favourite surfaces to work on. As with most pastellists I favour working on the reverse side which is rather less textured.

Absolutely beautiful! I love how you have left the door way unfinished and not too defined so that the attention remains on the lady.
